    Do I need batteries or power for a Simplex lock?

    No. Simplex locks are 100% mechanical. They use a proprietary internal chamber to validate the PIN code.

    Can I use more than one button at a time for the code?

    Yes. Simplex allows thousands of combinations, including pressing two buttons simultaneously as a single step in your code sequence.

    Is the Simplex 5000 field-reversible?

    Yes, the 5000 series is fully non-handed and can be changed from Left-Hand to Right-Hand in seconds during installation.

    How do I change the code on my Simplex lock?

    Most models allow you to change the code from the outside of the door using a control key or the current code, without taking the lock off the door.

    Can a Simplex lock be used on an exterior gate?

    Yes, they are highly weather-resistant. However, for extreme salt-air environments, we recommend regular lubrication of the internal mechanical chamber.
