    PRO TIP: The "Floating" Strike Secret

    The biggest mistake in Maglock installation is mounting the strike plate too tight. A Securitron strike plate MUST be allowed to "float" and pivot slightly on its center bolt. If it is rigid, it won't align perfectly with the magnet face, and you'll lose 50-80% of your holding force. Always use the provided rubber washers to ensure that "wobble" is present.

    What is the difference between Fail-Safe and Fail-Secure for a Maglock?

    All standard magnetic locks are Fail-Safe by design. If power is cut, the magnet releases. This is why they are ideal for life-safety egress.

    Does the M62 require 12V or 24V power?

    The M62 features Auto-Sensing Dual Voltage. It will automatically adjust to 12VDC or 24VDC without any jumper settings required.

    Can I use one M62 for a set of double doors?

    No. You need either two M62 units or a dedicated DM62 (Double Magnalock) to secure both leaves of a double-door opening.

    What is "Residual Magnetism" and how does Securitron prevent it?

    Residual magnetism is when a door "sticks" even after power is cut. Securitron uses a patented instant-release circuit to ensure the door opens immediately every time.

    Is the Securitron M62 weather-rated for outdoor use?

    Yes. The electronics are fully sealed (potted), making the M62 suitable for outdoor gates and harsh environments.
